Update

I had not gone through all 40,000 results of the Mt Washington RR in a couple of years to pick up any additional “most finishes”.  The all-time list includes everyone with 15 or more finishes.  Typically I just search on those 172 runners and update as appropriate.  It was brought to my attention that someone was missing, so I went through and updated picking up the 8 runners listed below.  I also made note of the runners with 10-14 finishes so it will be easier for me to update them from year to year (that way I don’t have to do a full review of ALL results until 2030).

I also fixed an error with the count for Sean Livington and Laurie Nicholas.

Updated Most finishes and Streak attached and posted.  Mt W trivia – the 180 with 15 or more finishes = 4158 total finishes or about 10% of ALL finishes.

Mt Washington all-time

Since we now have three years of data for the half-way Mt Washington race.  I’ve compiled the course records for the short course and also a list of the 35 who have done all three of the short years.  For the records I’ve listed the top 10 (or 15) overall times and the top 5 in each of the 5 year age groups starting with 40-44.

This year course records were set in M-overall, 40, 45, 55 (Todd), 60 (Erik), 75, and 80.

For women 40, 45, 50 (Christin), 60, 65, 75.

Quick stats – first time not on a third Saturday since 1986.

Winners data – both the men and women had the 2nd closest finishes ever.

Streak and most finishes – four got into the “300 mile club”.  22 have a streak of 25 or more years.

Top 10 finishes – Blake now leads with 19 and Ferreira is first with 11.

Halfway records – 35 have run the three short years.

History of Wachusett mountain race

The all Wachusett spreadsheet is here with results from every year and top 10 times in all age groups on the current course.

Notes on 2025:

2025 – A record 418 runners completed the 2.9 mile climb to the summit and 336 continued for the 10k up/down version of the race.  Eric Blake (multiple Mt Washington winner) topped the field in the climb running 19:33 which took nearly 1 minute off of the master’s course record. Matt Rabasco was second over the top and won the 10k in 39:15. Chayse Parker ran the second fastest time for 19 and under taking fourth in the climb in 21:56. He continued on to take second place in the 10k in a 19 and under record of 39:40.  Erik Vandendries took 1:21 off of the 60+ course record finishing 7th overall in the climb in 22:30.  He also ran the second fastest all-time in the 60+ for the 10k with a 44:07.  Richard Larsen ran the 2nd fastest 70+ climb time trailing only his CR from 2024.  On the women’s side Jessica Snyder won the climb in 24:30, which is the third fastest masters (40+) time.  Her 28 second lead at the top increased to 1:35 as she took the win in the 10k in 44:33 (5th fastest all-time).  Sharon O’Grady took 5th in the 10k with the second fastest time (48:54) all-time in the 50+, missing the CR by 8 seconds
